Day 3 *Back to School Winter Semester Mini Series*
Today I want to share with you all a few things I do the night before the first day of a new semester. I am total nervous wreck ball of anxiety the night before a first day. It's just who I am, and over the years I've really had to teach myself how to cope through it. First of all, I talk about it. I talk to anyone that will listen to my irrational fears of walking into the wrong class or not being able so sit close to the door. Just getting out what is making me nervous seems to ease my mind a bit. Sometimes, when I'm told I'm being silly I can really calm myself down because I hear it from someone else that yes, in fact, I am getting worked up over basically nothing. Something else that has proven to help me is getting everything in line the night before. I'm talking taking a shower, setting out the next day's outfit, planning breakfast, packing my lunch, and having my backpack packed and by the door. It takes away from all the tasks I have to do in the morning and helps me to sleep easier when I know everything was put in line when I was wide awake. Lastly, I get a good night of rest. I go to bed so I have at least 8 hours to lay there. Whether I am sleeping or not because of nerves, at least I had time to relax and rest my body brain.
I know this post was super short, but I still hope you got something out of it, even it's only knowing the fact that you are not alone with the first day jitters! I hope you all enjoyed this mini series and I look forward to writing to you all soon! Happy first day of a new semester to all of my fellow students out there!
